Located in the quiet neighbourhoods of PCMC, Pune, this project reimagines a spacious 4.5BHK flat into a 3.5BHK, incorporating structural changes to strictly adhere to Vastu principles. Designed for a family of four, the home strikes a delicate balance between modern chic and earthy aesthetics, with a strong emphasis on functionality.

As one steps inside, the natural quartzite flooring immediately sets the tone, energising the space with its raw beauty. This is complemented by a minimalist material palette—lime-plastered walls, mild steel accents, and stained veneer furniture punctuated with playful pops of colour and pattern to keep the space engaging.

The living room, with its slight curves and stucco-coated walls, exudes a warm, earthy aesthetic. A TV partition cleverly separates it from the dining area, which features a custom square table and a serene mandir, complete with its own cosy library. The chauffeured ceiling above subtly draws focus to this heart of the home, where family moments naturally unfold. Between the dining and the modular kitchen is an elaborate water feature crafted from Indian stones, with a hidden basin—a functional yet striking centrepiece, where the gentle sound of water adds to the home's tranquil ambience.

A passage adorned with shelves showcasing the family’s achievements leads to the bedrooms and home theatre. The parents’ bedroom welcomes with a stunning wooden bed back, creating a warm, cocoon-like space. The bed, set on a raised platform, adds a playful touch of elevation, while the room extends into a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite, with a bold tangerine console injecting a splash of vibrancy.

The kids' bedroom bursts with energy in lively shades of blue and yellow. The bed back, extending into a ceiling-high patterned grid, is filled with framed memories, turning it into a focal point that’s both playful and personal. The guest bedroom experiments with varying shades of green. The Vastu-guided bed placement creates space for a walk-in wardrobe niche, separated by a custom partition with a sliding mirror that adds a touch of fun and functionality.

Given the family’s social nature and zest for life, a dual-purpose room was essential. The home theatre also serves as a guest bedroom, with a spacious bed arrangement instead of recliners. Windows at the back let in natural light and fresh air, while the room’s thick veneer walls and acoustical insulation keep it soundproof and cosy for movie nights. Finally, the bathrooms, clad in a rich mix of Indian stones like basalt, kota, and red granite, bring a grounded, tactile element to the home.
